DOING MARKETING FOR HUMANS (NOT FOR THE ALGORITHMS)

There is an expression gaining momentum in conversations about digital marketing: back to basics. And it is no coincidence. After years of trying to please algorithms, many brands are realising that creating content just to gain reach is killing the most important thing: the human connection.

The feed is saturated with repeated formulas, videos that follow all the rules and clichéd phrases that all sound the same. But the truth? The audience has already noticed. And it is asking for more: more authenticity, more usefulness, more real stories.

The algorithm matters, but people matter even more

Creating only to please the algorithm leads to an obsession with metrics: likes, followers, reach. But what about real impact? The value? The conversation that stayed in someone's mind, or the message that touched whoever read it?

What does it mean, then, to create for humans?

It is about stopping thinking only in numbers and going back to thinking about people. It is showing behind the scenes, sharing honest opinions, not being afraid to show mistakes or unfinished processes. It is asking questions instead of giving ready answers. It is listening to the community instead of talking to yourself.

Small changes that make a big difference

Show the people behind the brand. Tell real stories, even imperfect ones. Ask more. Respond thoughtfully. Do not post just for the sake of posting. And above all, be useful. Because at the end of the day, what remains is not the number of views. It is what people felt when they saw what you shared.
