STOP MOTION IS FOR EVERYONE!

Stop Motion is an animation technique in which objects are physically manipulated in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of independent movement or change when the series of frames is played back. This technique has been around since "old times" and is still being used today for many purposes. It can make a difference in educating the new generations.

But how can this idea evolve into a program for schools?

Our stop motion project with schools is amazing to be a part of! In partnership with the Museum 0, this project involves visiting all schools, from primary to secondary, spanning from Vila do Bispo to Alcoutim, to teach all children and teenagers about stop motion and animation, and how these arts can be a part of their creative lives!

Initiated in 2017, this program will continue throughout 2023, and currently, there is no end date because we see how important these activities are for children and the development of their brains and creativity.

The aim of these Stop Motion and 2D animation workshops is to introduce the technique of stop motion animation and its principles, helping students produce a short animation to explore and stimulate their creative side. The plan is always to let them imagine and create a story! Allowing their minds to imagine all the possibilities they can create through a camera and a few figures.

We already have results showing what this project can do in the long term for students' lives, as several students who participated in one of the workshops have pursued this field of specialization and made it their life's work! How fantastic is that?
